On Tuesday, 15 June 2004, in
Scranton, PA a viewing was held for Norman from 1700-2000 hrs, Hugh and
Cheryl Hubbard and Don and Cathy Snowhite were in attendance.
Norman looked great shirt, tie and his green blazer.
Sitting up on the casket was his green special forces baseball hat that he
always wore. A lot of pictures of Norman and his family were
available, can you remember Norman when he was 180lbs. Any one who has a few
pictures of Norman might want to bring them to Las Vegas for our Chapter get
together. There were loads of flowers sent by Norms many friends and
prominently displayed was the Chapter 43 arrangement.
Wednesday morning at a viewing for the family Les Silvernail
and John and Kumi Eldridge joined the Hubbards and the Snowhites for the
services and the motorcade to the church and then to the cemetery. At the
cemetery Normans niece read a letter that was sent by Bill Freyser it
was without a doubt the most moving tribute of the day. We left
the cemetary and went to the churchmeeting hall where there was a great spread
of food. Here we got to spend some time with Kaori, Bobby and his
wife Nicole and meet the neighbors etc. Kaori was
pretty broken up until this time but she settled down a little and we
had a good visit.
We went back to the house where we met Diesel, a 165 lb
Dobermann pinscher belonging to Normans son Bobby but he had been Normans
close buddy during his last days. He kept looking around for his
friend who did not return. Kumi got to spend some time alone
with Kaori that was good for both of them Kumi had been a close friend for
a long time. We left to catch our flight at 1700hrs it was tough to say
sayo-nara.
